Saengerbund Awards - A German Vocal Competition

A contest for the support, development and preservation of German Singing.

Limited to young adults aged 21-32.

Repertoire from German opera, oratorio, operetta, Lieder or folk song
will be presented at the finals in a concert on Saturday, January 25, 2020
at 4:00 PM in Cullen Hall on the campus of the University of St. Thomas.

Past judges have included casting directors and conductors from the Metropolitan Opera and Houston Grand Opera, as well as other regional symphony and opera companies.


Past winners of the Saengerbund Awards have appeared with major companies throughout the USA and Europe, including the Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Houston Grand Opera, and many others.
